Window Tints in Miami and Broward

Auto window tinting is an easy way to enhance comfort, protect the interior of cars, and protect both drivers and passangers from harmful UV rays. Why do drivers need tints? What kind should they choose? Where in South Florida can they have this done?

Window tint is a film that was invented in 1966 and is applied to auto windows by professionals. That secure installation makes sure that the tint does not peel off and remain scratch resistant. There are laws in certain states that regulate tint as well, and a professional can assist in deciding on a grade and shade that will be suitable to the local policy.

Why Do You Need Tinted Windows?

Once window tint has been professionally applied, it can begin to protect the interior of the car and the passengers inside of it. Sunlight can be incredibly damaging and ruin leather interiors, leading to thousands of dollars’ worth of repairs. The tint will also prevent excess heat from building up inside of the vehicle, which is extremely important in warm climates. Overheating inside of a car is a problem for children and animals, which is often an accident.

Choosing a Tint Shade

Ultimate Auto Connection can assist in choosing tints, but there are a few basics that should be covered. The tint is measured by the amount of light that passes through the window after the tint has been applied. That measurement is the VLT level. This is the percentage of light coming through. The lower the VLT percentage, the less light that is making it to the inside of the vehicle. In the state of Florida, the front windows must have a 28% rating, the back windows must have a 15% rating, and the windshield can only feature non reflective tint above the AS-1 line. There are, of course, more factors that play a role in deciding on tint, although VLT is the easiest to understand and take into account.
